Island Lake Christian Retreat Centre is located along the continental divide between Alberta and British Columbia in the historic Crowsnest Pass. This year-round facility is nestled into a secluded, wind-free location alongside Island Lake . It has a conference room, dining room capacity for 100 and a fully equipped commercial kitchen. Overnight capacity is in excess of 75 with 16 private bedrooms on the main floor and 7 large dormitory style rooms on the lower floor. Both levels have beautiful stone fireplaces and there is a large sunny balcony overlooking Island Lake and surrounding mountain peaks.
Local recreational possibilities are endless, including hiking, fishing, biking, horseback riding, skiing (cross country or downhill) and snowmobiling. Plan to enjoy the lake and the several trails surrounding the centre or discover some of the excellent hiking trails within a few minutes drive. Fernie Ski Hill is only forty minutes away and the nearby Sparwood Recreation Centre has an excellent indoor swimming pool.
Island Lake Christian Retreat Centre is owned and operated by Bow Valley Mission, a registered non-profit Christian organization. Bow Valley offers programming and encourages use of the facilities for spiritual enrichment and activities for individuals, youth and families.
